Tonight

The last 2 or 3 posts, which are no longer visible, were written when my mind is turbulent.. I do mean what I said, but that's not healthy to have such believes..

I get myself cool down a little bit tonight.. After finishing the dinner, alone, I go to media resources and watch 5 programmes, spanning 3.5 hrs..

The first one that I watch, is a film adaptation of Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness, and I got to say, I don't know what the hell the story is about, even after I finish it.. It is supposed to be a masterpiece.. but anyway, the hell should disappear once I read it..

Then, I watched some Mark Twain's Old America.. Wow, I feel like watching Gone with the Wind.. the pictures are so old.. and have a lifely spirit in them.. things still got so many room for development, unlike our present state in HK..

Next, I picked up a lecture on American literature, only to stop it after 5 minutes.. The lecturer is supposed to be witty and famous, but I'm so sorry that I am too unprepared for the boredom..

Next, I go to the life of James Joyce, another crazy Irish writer (lived in early 20th century) talking openly just about everything.. Irish always sound crazy and happy, and sometimes arrogant in their trash talk.. And their men are always alcoholic like many Northern ppl living near the pole.. The Irish act like Irish everywhere they go.. They have a cultural identity.. They won't lose it.. And crazy or not, I envy such identity..

Well, the VHS is starting to get bored as well, and I switch to a DVD, which is like my first literature lesson.. The DVD is known as Joyce to the World.. After finishing the DVD, I have to wonder, are we too oppressed in this age that ppl desire craziness?? That we all want to be liberated spiritually?? And if craziness mean happiness, why don't do it then?? But then, there's is a limit to such craziness -- morality..

The DVD chronicles the Bloomsday (16th June), which is the day James Joyce wrote about in his book Ulyssess.. It claims to be a big festival worldwide, including HK, when the book would be read in the midst of some crazy events.. The book uses a lot of strange words, you won't know their meaning unless you read them aloud.. and you will find that those strange words describe the sounds of nature, like ppfpfffpfpff are the sounds of fart (放屁).. It signifies the end of censorship in literature, as well as the liberation of human thoughts, that everything can be dirty if your thought is dirty, and if not, nothing is dirty.. That's why ppl are celebrating the day..

I really have to wonder.. will hypocrisy end in China?? We have enough of it.. and too much indeed.. Look at the politicians.. I am tired of seeing them.. when would it end??!!

To attack current politics is meaningless, and I am not sure why ppl can afford so much energy to do that.. I mean, those stupidly smart people.. Do they just regard attacking politics as a means to sustain their boring life?? If not, do they know that a better way is to cure the culture first?? we can have everything after that, living like healthy humans, leading a well-nourished life..
